My Favorite Places To Spend $$$ Near Calamigos

1. Groceries
: Trader Joe's (Agoura Hills) & Erewhon Market (Calabasas)

Trader Joe’s and Erewhon Market are my go-to grocery stores, but for very different reasons. Trader Joe’s is perfect for a weekly grocery run. My grocery bill is normally between $30-50 and I get everything I need, from bread to eggs to coffee creamer to produce to study snacks. It is also right at the top of Kanan Road, so it is easily accessible from Calamigos Ranch. On the other hand, Erewhon is a luxury grocery store experience. You can stop by here for some buffalo cauliflower (my favorite!), a refreshing smoothie, or a cheap slice of pizza.

2. Take Out: Exotic Thai Cafe (Agoura Hills) & Lal Mirch Indian Restaurant (Agoura Hills)

Both of these restaurants are right at the top of Kanan Road, so they are an easy go-to when you are not in the mood to cook and want to pick-up a tasty meal. I get the chicken pad see ew from Exotic Thai Cafe and the chicken tikka masala from Lal Mirch Indian Restaurant.

3. Dessert: Jeni’s Ice Cream (Calabasas) & Pressed Juicery (Woodland Hills)

While Jeni’s and Pressed are not at the top of Kanan Road, they are both worth the brief drive. Jeni’s Ice Cream is located in the Calabasa Commons, a fun shopping center with a movie theatre, Barnes & Noble, Sephora, and so much more. My favorite ice cream flavors are Gooey Butter Cake and Brambleberry Crisp. In addition, Pressed Juicery is a juicery in Woodland Hills that has a delicious soft-serve date-based ice cream machine. This is a great option for vegans or those with a lactose or dairy intolerance. My favorite flavor is vanilla topped with almond butter, strawberries, and chocolate chips. If you have a sweet tooth, check these places out!

4. Coffee: 10 Speed Coffee (Calabasas) & Longevity Coffee (Thousand Oaks)

If you appreciate good coffee and enjoy the atmosphere of a local coffee shop, you would enjoy both of these places. 10 Speed is a coffee shop attached to both a bike repair shop and the popular restaurant, Pedalers Fork. It has such a neat vibe and is a great place to study for a few hours. With the restaurant being attached, you can easily get a snack, too. I recommend the maple oat milk latte from 10 Speed and the truffle fries from Pedalers Fork. Longevity is a smaller coffee shop located in Thousand Oaks, and their coffee is superb. They brew low acid coffee that settles in the most sensitive of stomachs. They also make their own nut milks!

5. Self-Care: Top Nails Spa & Waxing (Westlake Village) & Nordstrom Rack (TO)

I truly love both getting my nails done or partaking in a bit of retail therapy. Top Nails has some of the kindest employees, and they provide quality work. I recommend their dip manicure, but I don’t think you could go wrong with any of their services. Secondly, Nordstrom Rack is a great place to get premier brands for a fraction of the cost. As a college student, this has been a great store for me to find fantastic deals!
